In a groundbreaking move for the African comic industry, Ayodele Elegba, CEO of Spoof Animations and Convener of Lagos Comic Con, has officially launched the African Comic Conventions platform. This digital space aims to unite fans, creators, and industry professionals, fostering growth, learning, and community. He described the platform as not just another website, but a haven for comic enthusiasts, offering a place to buy, sell, network, and sustain engagement even after major events like the Lagos Comic Con.

Alongside the platform's digital launch, Elegba introduced the Ibadan Fan Expo, expanding the reach of comic culture to new audiences and bringing the vibrant energy of Lagos Comic Con to the city of Ibadan. This event marks a significant step in making comic-related activities more accessible across Nigeria.
In an exciting return, the ComicPanel Awards will now be an independent, red-tie event, celebrating the creative achievements of the industry. The platform’s pre-order service will also provide creators with the tools to distribute their comics efficiently, ensuring their works reach fans far and wide.

Reflecting on his journey, Elegba shared, “Alone, I can achieve something, but together, we can achieve more!” Fans are invited to visit www.africancomicconventions.com to participate in surveys, helping to shape the future of the platform.
With these exciting developments, the African Comic Conventions initiative is poised to strengthen and expand Africa’s comic culture, fostering collaboration and a united community spirit.
